Traditional music and culture have rich associations with the varied landscapes of Scotland. Music and songs were and are part of life, and often inspired by the countryside around. Walking through it is an ideal way to immerse ourselves in the history and heritage of Scotland. Our small group tours explore some of these links, walking and experiencing the landscapes by day, listening and playing the music and songs at private evening ceilidhs with some local based music makars in the evenings. Many participants bring along their fiddles, whistles, small pipes, etc, to really get to play where the music was conceived. Tours are in various parts of Scotland – Outer Hebrides, Orkney / Shetland, Highlands / Skye, Borders – each one with very different music styles, and include transport, accommodation and guide.
