From cheeky monkeys and elusive wildcats to Scotland’s only polar bears – there’s something for the whole pack to explore at Highland Wildlife Park! Set in the stunning Cairngorms National Park only seven miles from Aviemore, the park is open seven days a week and offers breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands. At the park we offer an exciting programme of discovery ranger talks throughout the day, a range of eating experiences, play areas to explore and a fantastic gift shop with lots of sustainable options.
Make sure to explore Scotland’s Wildlife Discovery Centre on your next wild adventure to the park. With a newly refurbished visitor centre and three new buildings, featuring an interactive exhibition, a hilltop den where you can learn about our conservation work and new classrooms to provide space for local communities, there’s never been a better time to visit the park!
The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) is a wildlife conservation charity with a bold vision: a world where nature is protected, valued and loved. Our mission is to save wildlife and empower people in Scotland and around the world to protect, value and love nature. By 2030 RZSS will:
-
Reverse the decline of at least 50 species – from pine hoverflies and wildcats in the Cairngorms National Park to giraffes in Uganda, giant anteaters in Brazil and many more
-
Create stronger connections with nature for more than a million people – Highland Wildlife Park is a gateway to the natural world through which people can experience nature and learn about the challenges facing wildlife
-
Enable more than 100 communities to better protect nature – stronger communities have a greater capacity to care for wildlife and we can help people realise the mental and physical health and wellbeing benefits of being close to nature through our zoos and global reach
