Ocean Vertical is an ethical adventure company based in Scotland on the rugged coastline of East Lothian, 25 miles east of Edinburgh. We offer regular days and custom adventures for small groups and individuals locally and across Scotland throughout the year.

What is Coasteering? It’s a journey into the tidal impact zone, swimming, climbing, jumping and exploring over rock and water. It’s a unique way to explore an inaccessible environment between land and ocean. It’s fun, adventurous and exhilarating. We are based on the rugged coastline of East Lothian. We have spectacular coasteering locations on our doorstep allowing us to move to where conditions are best on the day. Castles, rocks, cliffs, inlets, beaches and islands are all there to be explored.
Paddleboarding

Stand up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is currently the fastest growing water sport in the world. It’s like walking on water giving you a totally new perspective of your environment. Paddle boarding allows you to not only have a great view across the water, but also to explore what’s going on underneath it. We are based on the rugged coastline of East Lothian. We have fantastic paddle boarding locations on our doorstep, allowing us to move to where the conditions are best on the day. The locations are stunning with castles, rocks, cliffs, inlets, beaches, islands, birds and marine life.

Winter in the Scottish mountains is a serious and highly rewarding undertaking. Reduced daylight, snow and continually changing conditions in wild and remote locations make for a real mountaineering adventure. We follow the weather patterns carefully. These dictate the locations and focus of our activities. We are highly experienced in these conditions and, where necessary, can supply all technical equipment such as crampons and ice axes. We focus on planning, navigation, mountain awareness and safe decision-making.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of catching a wave. Power and speed. It’s addictive and immersive. We are based on the rugged coastline of East Lothian where we have multiple surf locations on our doorstep allowing us to move to where the waves are best on the day. Our beach locations are wild and stunning. We work with small groups and individuals. This way everyone gets great coaching and time with the instructor to help you get the most out of your day. Our maximum group size is 6. Our water-based adventures generally start in April each year.
