Douglas Mcadam

Douglas McAdam, Executive Chair

Douglas McAdam has spent the last 30 years in private commercial business at senior management and Board level across the aviation, utilities and land management sectors, both internationally and in the UK. From 2006 to 2017 he was CEO of Scottish Land & Estates and played a very active role across the land management, rural business and conservation sectors in Scotland, with hands-on involvement in many industry groups and forums. Doug bases himself between Perthshire, Assynt and the Balkans and owns and runs his own business operating in the tourism, consultancy and property sectors. Doug is currently a Non-Executive Director of several Boards, private and public, including Cairngorms National Park Authority. He is currently Chairman of Countryside Learning Scotland, South Grampian Deer Management Group and Wild Deer Best Practice (Scotland). Outside of work Doug spends most of his time on a mountain bike, climbing mountains, deer stalking or in a pack raft after wily brown trout. 

Victoria Brooks Wild Scotland Manager

Victoria Brooks, Manager

Victoria is passionate about Scottish Tourism and has excellent communication skills with the ability to pull people and organisations together to achieve positive outcomes. Her ability to manage and adapt has helped organisations such as Wild Scotland overcome challenges and barriers whilst at the same time helping them to develop and grow.

Victoria has a wealth of experience from working in the airline industry to the rural adventure and wildlife tourism sector in Scotland and benefits from a wide range of experience including project management, marketing and communications to events and training. She has the experience to recognise the diverse range of skills required to meet the needs of rural tourism businesses across Scotland.

Victoria is based in rural Perthshire and loves to spend any spare time with family and friends enjoying a range of activities with a particular passion for photography, walking, cycling, yoga and anything to do with water whether in it or on it!

Rebecca Silva Membership Officer

Rebecca Silva, Membership Officer

Rebecca joined Wild Scotland as the Membership Officer in July 2020 to develop and maintain membership services. In addition, she works alongside the Wild Scotland Manager to provide ongoing development of Wild Scotland’s Principles, Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines to ensure responsible and sustainable tourism.

Based on the west coast of Scotland, Rebecca also works with Primal Adventures delivering a range of activities from bushcraft to training and wilderness experiences. Rebecca spent many years providing support in an executive office and as Public Relations at a corporate firm where she was responsible for managing international events.

Rebecca is a big picture thinker who grasps innovative ideas and concepts, translating those into action, developing creative and innovative solutions to challenges with the ability to communicate and negotiate concisely at all levels. Rebecca enjoys being part of successful and productive teams and thrives in a collaborative and inspirational culture.

An outdoor enthusiast, Rebecca loves spending time with her children in the great outdoors and is particularly keen on running, yoga, hiking and travel.

Meike Van Krimpen

Meike van Krimpen, Marketing Support

Meike joined the Wild Scotland team officially in March 2021 to do marketing support, after volunteering her time whilst on Covid-19 furlough. Meike handles much of Wild Scotland’s B2C social media, and assists on various B2C and B2B communications and digital content development.

Meike is an experienced Digital Marketer with a history of working in the tourism and hospitality industry. Having previously worked at Visit Scotland and for the Speratus Group, Meike has delivered UK wide and international destination marketing campaigns, working with high-level marketing data and providing digital marketing consultancy within the travel industry.

Currently based in the Cairngorms National Park, Meike also works within the marketing team of award-winning adventure operator Wilderness Scotland. Here, she manages digital content, paid promotion and social media.

As an advocator of a healthy work-life balance, when not pondering spreadsheets or writing up travel content, you'll catch Meike enjoying Scotland's outdoors, knitting hats or cooking up a storm.
